The People's Parade

An historic birthday party

The People’s Parade was a major community event marking Stoke-on-Trent’s first 100 years of city hood.  Celebrating Stoke-on-Trent, it showed the world what makes Stoke-on-Trent so special – our people, our history, our heroes, and most of all, our community spirit.

The People’s Parade featured 1000 community participants, alongside specially made large scale puppets, costumes, live music, dancers and banners, all people-powered (no vehicles). So, everyone and everything in the parade walked, pushed or wheeled, but none of it was motorised.

The Party in the Park was a celebration event featuring charity stalls, craft vendors, fun fair and a live music stage.
