Longton Carnival & Pig Walk Parade 2025 Sunday, 6th April 2025 - 11am -4pm Longton Town Centre Longton Carnival & Pig Walk Parade is back on Sunday 6th April 2025 with a fun-filled day of FREE amazing, family friendly entertainment in Longton town centre! Look forward to music, circus entertainment, singing, dancing, free creative workshops, an artisan market, fun fair, street food stalls and the amazing Pig Walk Parade! The Pig Walk Parade: Starting at Longton Exchange and parading down The Strand, this colorful spectacle celebrates a unique piece of Longton’s history. Expect vibrant costumes, live music, dance performances, and a giant puppet pig leading the way! The Story of The "Pig Walk" John Aynsley was Mayor of Longton from 1886. During that time he raised money and land for Queen’s Park, Longton, and also for Longton Cottage Hospital. One of his fund raising activities was to drive a pig through the centre of Longton, which we’re celebrating through Carnival!
