Stoke-on-Trent & Erlangen: Celebrating 35 years of friendship

Erlangen

Stoke-on-Trent marks its 100th year by celebrating 35 years of friendship with twin city Erlangen. Join us 28 Oct at Commerce House for stories, student talks, and live links to Germany.

This year, Stoke-on-Trent celebrates its 100th birthday. What better way to mark the occasion than by honouring one of our longest and most treasured friendships? For 35 years, our German twin city, Erlangen, has shared projects, people and ideas with us, and we think that’s definitely worth celebrating!

Join us at Commerce House from 6:00pm on Thursday, 28 October for a relaxed and inspiring evening where we will:

✨ Hear stories from the early days of the partnership with former Stoke-on-Trent MP Joan Walley, who was instrumental in making it happen.

✨ Listen to students from Stoke-on-Trent College share their experiences from a recent visit to Erlangen.

✨ Reflect on the moments that have brought our two cities together, and imagine what the future holds. We’ll be celebrating across two countries with a live video link, so we can enjoy conversations in real time.

Whether you’ve been part of the twinning from the start, joined in along the way or are simply curious, this is your chance to help shape the next chapter. Let’s raise a glass to 35 years of friendship… and to the next 35!
