Saturday with Arnold

A series of 5 forty five minute to one hour videos screening on facts of Arnold Bennett relating to the Dudson location, Hope street and surrounding area. Plus a production of a 6th one.
The videos will promote the fact that the Dudson centre is located at the birthplace of the greatest writer, Arnold Bennett, the author of the Five Towns Stories. There will also be an exhibition of items relating to Bennett at each of the screenings. The production of the sixth video will encapsulate a combination of these facets and a 'virtual Bennett walk' featuring Mervyn Edwards with relevant film archive from Staffordshire Film Archives. This video will be in the form of a continuously running 'streaming' video which can loop on an unattended screen all day if needed or on special event occasions.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
