“For the Love of Stoke” is a centenary exhibition honouring local photographer Donald Morris.

“For the Love of Stoke” is a centenary exhibition honouring local photographer Donald Morris, who, like the city he loved and documented, would have turned 100 this year. It opens at the Spode Museum on 9 July. A lifelong resident of Stoke-on-Trent, Donald Morris captured thousands of black-and-white images of the city’s people, potbanks, canals, street corners, and daily life throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and beyond. The exhibition is both a tribute to his remarkable visual archive and a celebration of the city’s industrial and human heritage.
