A Canalside Arcana: Community Celebration & Art Trail Launch

Join us as we celebrate the launch of A Canalside Arcana - Stoke-on-Trent's newest art trail along the canal between Etruria and Hanley Park - with a free even filled with creativity, music, and more!
Come and join us as we celebrate the launch of a new public art trail along the canal between Etruria and Hanley Park. Appetite and Canal & River Trust tasked artist Anna Francis to create a new artwork for the people of Etruria. Based on input from residents and others who value the canal as a space for reflection and restoration, Anna has created a series of eight ceramic plaques along the canal interwoven with interesting information and tales of folklore about the nature that grows there. And now we’re thrilled to launch the trail in Stoke-on-Trent’s centenary year. The day will be filled with things to see and do at either end of the trail in Etruria and Hanley Park including live music, hands-on clay activities with ceramic artists, drop-in creative workshops on a long boat, a frog performer, and refreshments. You can walk the trail with a pack of beautiful hand-drawn arcana cards and a map that to take home and keep, or book onto a guided walk with Anna herself. Or why not both? Find out more about what you can enjoy on the day, how the project unfolded, and how to book onto a free guided walk over on our website at appetite.org.uk See you there!
